Hawkeye McNew

Born June 8, 2012
Sent to Heaven July 27, 2026
Hawkeye loved car rides with the window open but not as much as riding on the boat and even occasionally a jet ski. He was obviously a pirate in another life. He was an amazing volleyball player which we called Bop, loved a good slipper or flip flop, loved bacon, frozen peas and ice cream. Hawkeye lived life like a king; sleeping in a king size bed with his family, he even had a pretentious attitude towards his two rescue dog brothers. His err of superiority and casual aloofness made him the cool dog you wanted to hang out with. He loved being scratched for hours and hours and would bat at you if you tried to stop scratching. He loved to sleep in very late like a teenager. Hawkeye’s family is gutted and devastated with his passing but are grateful to know he’s laying on grandpa’s lap in his recliner taking a good nap and waiting for us at the rainbow bridge.

Twinkie Vasaio

To say Twinkie and I were codependent would be an understatement. She was my soul mate. If I lived 1,000 lives, I'd never know another love like hers. When I got married, and had children, I worried Twinkie would feel dethroned and would be resentful of the children. I couldn't have been more wrong. Twinkie relished snuggling with them and loved when they carried her around like a baby. She protected them from loud voices and thunderstorms, barking at anything she thought might be a threat to them. We were "one" so deeply that she viewed my children as if they were her own puppies. I only hope she knew just how deeply I loved her. I used to keep a syringe of water on my nightstand for times she might be thirsty in the middle of the night. I didn't want her to have to climb out of bed and have to go downstairs to get a drink. She loved her water from a syringe. I think she knew it was "extra" and loved it even more for being over the top. To others, it was the most outrageous love fest to see us together, resting cheek to cheek. If you only knew how we were made for each other; you'd be convinced our pairing was evidence of divine intervention. She loved me perfectly. After a difficult night, she waited for me to race home early from work to take her to the cardiologist and went to eternal rest in my arms. She fought heart failure for over 3 years, and I know she fought so hard because she knew how much we needed her. Her final act of love for me was not to put me through the heartbreak of wondering if it was her time. I only hope she knew just how deeply I loved her. To my Twinkie, who loved me perfectly every day I knew her; I love you endlessly. ♡

Ivan Bupp

Ivan was the best dog! Super quirky and loved to be outside roaming the yard. He was well known and loved by our neighborhood. One of our favorite memories of Ivan is when the kids would leave the yard to go to a friend’s house, and Ivan would then run to the back door and “talk” to let us know they left. Ivan enjoyed bones, treats, and long walks. He LOVED his “little” brother and sister. Our house feels empty without him and we miss him so much! With lots of tears, we had to say goodbye to our sweet, sweet Ivan. We love you buddy❤️

Sammy Rasmussen

I wanted to share some beautiful memories of my Sammy. He was such a special dog, born on July 3rd, 2009. Sammy wasn't just a pet; he was truly part of our family. He had the most amazing personality – so loyal and loving, everyone who met him instantly adored him. I'll never forget how he stayed by my side for four whole months after my brother passed away. He wouldn't even leave me to go to the bathroom! He was my rock, my constant companion, helping me through such a difficult times and which he did the same thing when my dad and mom died. Sammy was loved by everyone – Lindsey, Kyle, Adam, and of course, me! I chose him when he was just six weeks old, and he quickly became my best friend, my furry soulmate. He was, without a doubt, my person. Losing him on February 12th, 2025, left a huge hole in our hearts. We miss him terribly.
(July 3rd, 2009 - February 12th, 2025)

Duncan Wagner-Jarvie

Our sweet, 8 year old Black Labrador. Our sweet boy was an SPCA shelter rescue when he was only 14 months old and quickly won our hearts. He was beside us through our engagement, marriage, mortgages and additions to our family. Truly a family dog; Duncan was patient, loyal and curious of our little ones who grew with him. How lucky we were to have found each other.
Miss you Dunk

Sweetie Vanier

Sweetie was a 15 and a half year old pit bull. I adopted her from the ASPCA in Harrisburg when she was 4 yrs old. She was always a good dog with a bit of mischief built in. She loved a good walk and loved meeting new people. She never met a stranger and she never honored your personal space. She loved when you threw a blanket over her and she would walk around while wearing it. We had a good long life together and I will forever be missing a part of my heart. She is now pain free and waiting at the Rainbow bridge for me.

Lexi Sipe

We got Lexi back in April of 2013 and we instantly fell in love. She had a rough start of her life, but we changed that. She was so spoiled and had the best personality. She had the normal stubbornness of a bull terrier, but we wouldn’t change it for anything. She loved her sissy (most of the time) and would love curling up with her on the couch and taking nap. For the last 4 years she got sick and had spent health issues that left her on medication for the rest of her life. We really thought we were going to lose her then, but the vets gave us another 4 years with her. We are forever grateful for that. Unfortunately we recently got bad news that she has a softball size mass on her liver and we didn’t want her to go through anymore treatments or a surgery. It’s not a goodbye, it’s cya later.

Gus Thoman

In Loving Memory of Gus
2014 – 2025
Gus was more than a beloved pet—he was family. For eleven wonderful years, his brindle coat, soulful eyes, and spirited personality filled our home with warmth and joy. He had a sassy charm that made us laugh and a loving heart that reminded us daily what unconditional love truly means. Whether eagerly waiting for his next meal or nestled beside us at home, Gus was happiest when surrounded by those who loved him most. He brought comfort in quiet moments, companionship in every season, and gratitude to our hearts in ways words can scarcely express. Though his paws no longer echo through our halls, his presence remains—in the love he gave so freely and the memories he leaves behind. Thank you, Gus, for eleven beautiful years of loyalty, laughter, and love. You will forever be in our hearts. 🐾

Rosie Verge

We so appreciate your at home services so our last moments with Rosie were as peaceful as they could be. Thank you for honoring our sweet girl on your website, Facebook and Instagram pages with the picture and tribute below. We got our sweet girl from our friend whose barn cat had kittens and my third grade students helped us name her: Rosie. She fit perfectly into our hands when we brought her home! She was both spunky and elegant, and very talkative. She loved lettuce and popcorn, any open bag, box or suitcase, and the brown paper that came in delivery boxes. Rosie loved morning yoga with her mom and helping her dad work by sitting on his computer. She was always down to snuggle up on our legs (especially with a blanket), and she gave the best “kisses”. We don’t have the words for how much we love her or how much we miss her. We hope she is playing across the Rainbow Bridge where there’s an endless supply of treats and no blue bathroom rug or doorbells <3

Maggie Schmidt

Maggie Schmidt
Jan. 14, 2007 - Nov. 19, 2024
With broken hearts and streams of tears we have said our goodbyes to our little girl, Maggie. She was a part of our family for over 17 1/2 years and she will be missed so much. Maggie was a smart one and certainly managed to train us well. She always reminded us when dinner was nearing with her prancing and whimpering, how could we possibly forget? We didn’t even have to look at the clock we knew it was 3 and then her brothers Bruno & Frankie would start to chime in. Maggie had an obsession with paper products, it didn’t matter what kind, any and all paper products had to be kept out her reach. We had found her many times with her head in one of our coat pockets getting a tissue or paper left behind. One Christmas morning we found she had nicely eaten all the tags off the presents leaving the packages themselves untouched. She loved tricking her brother Bruno when he was in her bed and she wanted it. She would go to the door and bark as if she wanted to go out and Bruno would go running to join her at the door but Maggie would quickly turn around, run and hop into her bed. She was always under foot when someone was working in the kitchen, just hoping something would fall her way and yes many times something accidentally slipped her way. Before we were ready to sit and relax to watch TV at night, Maggie would pace around until she and her brothers got their 2 cookie treats. We couldn’t fool her just giving her one big cookie, it had to be two, no matter big or small….this girl really could count. She was certainly a character in so many ways. Ours boys have been so quiet now and at loss too now that Maggie is gone. It is always hard to say goodbye to a loved one but we know she is in a better place now. Rest in Peace our little princess, we love you and miss you so much.

Charlie Garrett

Here is my Charlie..

He loved to swim ..take his baths.. play with Luna ...play ball and go camping..

Paco Bear

Paco
(2/16/14 - 10/16/25)
was a gentle giant. He started as our empty nest pup and quickly became a core part of our family. Weighing 110lbs, his size was sometimes off-putting, but his playfulness and love of small children made him endearing and such a great member of our family. We miss you so much, Paco Bean... 💔

Winston Shank

I just wanted to thank you for including my dog Winston to your memorial. My wife and I just went to the memorial the other day. I was amazed how nice the place was. You put a lot of effort in making this place nice. I am glad my dog is part of the memorial. Thank You so very much. p.s. We still miss Winston. - Thomas and Sandy Shank (May 2022)

Isis Brandt

I want to thank you SO much for the caring way you handled my loss of Isis. She was a dear friend for 19.5 years. She would usually sleep on my chest at night, especially if I was trying to read a book! She would purr and constantly "mark" my glasses - in case I forgot she was there. I will always remember the day we brought her home - a rescue and very shy. That sure changed! She acted as mother to all the others, even to the point of cleaning our beagles' faces. Again, thank you.

Applehead "Appy" Pertusio

Oh, Applehead... Where should I begin and how could I conclude? You were born on Tuesday, April 19th, 2005 and blessed all who crossed your path until your last breath on Thursday, April 15th, 2021 (just 4 days shy of what would have been your 16th birthday). In your short time walking this Earth, you and I have conquered many mountains together, haven't we? You stood beside me when I would often feel alone. You even walked with me through my childhood abuse, taking some of that on your own shoulders so I wouldn't have to. Seeing you for the first time made me a believer in love at first sight. Gosh, Applehead... You were so tiny. You actually fought and won the battle of kennel cough just before we met. Although you almost died at just a mere few weeks old, you were already stronger than I'd ever comprehend. I owe you so much for being my sidekick exterminator. I'd be yelling at the bugs and you'd reluctantly be standing there next to me, after I'd wake you from your nap to help me. I don't really know what I was expecting you to do, but your company made me braver against those scary bugs. I'll miss your whining grunts and stomping paws when I didn't get up early enough to take you outside. I'll miss seeing you fall so peacefully asleep in the sunshine, or in front of our fireplace. I'll miss blow drying your fur when you'd get wet from the rain. I'll miss the way your tail looked like an unmanned fire hose when you'd swim. I'll miss the instant drool at the thought that you'd get a crumb of table scraps and how you'd literally finish your scoop of vanilla ice cream in just one gulp. I'll miss your streamlined jumps from the bed. I'll miss your hopping, statue-like stance whenever you thought someone was at the door. I'll miss spoiling you with your vacuum cleaner massages. I'll miss your teeth chattering whenever you'd smell something strong. I'll miss your "corn-on-the-cobbing" (nibbling on your legs). I'll miss cradling you in my arms so tightly while you slept. I'll miss how you'd sleep under the covers all night long. I'll miss taking you to Pawsabilities and watching you win 1st place in contests for eating and leaving treats. I'll miss the "poop shop" and "lemonade stand" days. I'll miss your many tricks, including the one that most dazzled everyone (you would ring a bell every time you wanted to go outside, which was practically every 5 minutes!). I'll miss gazing into your big, beautiful, chocolate brown eyes. One of my fondest memories is of us, sleeping side by side in bed. We went to bed like any other night, only this time, we woke up in such a special way. I was laying on my right side with my right arm out. You were right in front of me, snuggled up so close/tight and I was spooning you. Your head laid right on the pillow in front of mine with my left arm wrapped around you. Honestly, I'll never forget that moment when I woke up in pure love and amazement. You and I truly were connected on a deeper level, weren't we? One memory that will haunt me is during our last moments together, I swear you knew what was about to happen. The way you tried to get up and save yourself, the crying/howling of absolute helplessness and hopelessness, all the while not wanting to leave me. And then you laid back down and allowed me to hold your head in my hands. You allowed me to be with you when you took your final breath. I looked you in your beautiful eyes and then became the last thing you ever saw. Oh, how I wish I could look into your big brown eyes just one more time... That will haunt me forever. But even so, I loved you enough to let you go, not that I ever wanted or planned to. I wish that it could have been different, but I'm just so thankful that I could be there with you. Baby boy, I am so sorry that there was not enough time allotted so that we could be together and I could spoil you you even longer. I'm sorry you didn't live to see your 16th birthday. I'm sorry for every time I had to leave you home to run an errand. I'm sorry for any extra walk you wanted to take and didn't get to. I'm sorry Hannah and Noah didn't get the chance to know and love you the way I did. I'm sorry for all the times in your life, when I'd try to put your best interests in heart, if they ever hurt your heart in some way. I am so, so, so sorry to have had to let you go and hope you can forgive me... 💔 Applehead, as I told you every chance I could, as well as during our first and last times together... Thank you for blessing my life with yours. Thank you for loving me even when I lost my way. Thank you for hanging on as long as you did (I'm pretty sure you lived more lives than a cat). You were my protector, my blanket of miracles. I always believed that if there was one dog that could figure out a way to beat death, it would have been you. Your uniqueness, your spunk, your strength... Your unconditional love, your loyalty, your intelligence... I don't know if any other dog could ever be half the dog/best friend you were/are, but what I do know for sure is that I am forever grateful for your existence. Hannah (age 5) wants to tell you: "I love you, Applehead." Noah (age 3) wants to tell you: "I love you, Applehead. I wish I could pet you really nice. I want to snuggle with you and play with you when you're a real person when you come." Grandmom (age 56) wants to tell you: "Applehead, My Dearest Grand-Doggie: I remember that wonderful day in Florida when I met eyes with you for the first time in the Pet Shop when I was looking to get you for my Cassandra for her Graduation gift. She wanted you so bad. Seeing you trying to walk, as you were such a tiny lil' thing in that cage was so adorable I had tears in my eyes. We purchased you as it was love at first sight. We took you home and you became so very sick that night and I laid on the floor and slept by your side. You had kennel cough. You over-came that and every other issue in your life from that point forward. You were always a fighter and you are now with God and at the Rainbow Bridge running and playing with Fredrick and all the other pets. Grandmommy misses you so much my sweetie. You will be loved and missed forever. Let your wings soar. Love, Grandmom XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO" The last thing I need to say is that I love you and will always miss you. While it's disappointing to not have you anymore, you never once disappointed me and if there ever was a time that I was upset with something you did, I forgave you long ago. I will make sure I tell the story of you within my life story. You may be physically gone, but you'll always be very present in my life and if what they say is true and there is a Rainbow Bridge, then I pray you'll wait for me there (with Fredrick) so I can be with and never have to separate from you again. I pray that you rest in the sweetest love, happiness, health, harmony, freedom and peace you so deserve. God bless you, Applehead. Someday, our paths will cross again, but until that day comes, I am forced to say goodbye for now, my first true love... *kiss* I will always love and miss you more than yesterday, but forever less than tomorrow, Applehead, Mommy Cassandra (& Hannah | Noah | Grandmom)

Beau Myers

In loving memory of Beau
May 11, 2013- October 5, 2025
Beau was our fun, loving, loyal fur baby that enjoyed duck hunting, hiking in the mountains, boat rides, playing with his football and being with our 5 grandchildren when they would come to visit . We miss him so much . RIP until we meet again.

Sadie Pier

Sadie
March 23, 2008 – September 22, 2025
Our sweet diva Sadie passed away peacefully at home, embraced in love, after 17 and a half wonderful years. She was my first big “adult” purchase after college. Growing up, I had always dreamed of having a dog, but it was never in the cards. When Sadie came into my life, that childhood dream finally came true. In her younger days, Sadie loved going for walks, playing with her doggie friends, and going on trips wherever the next adventure would take us. She was my loyal companion through every season of life. Later in life, you could always find her scouring under the table for scraps or charming whichever “weak link” she could find, often our kids, into sneaking her extra treats. She was clever, determined, and always ready for a snack. She loved to sunbathe, always seeking out the warmest patch of sunlight, and she could happily spend hours outside basking in the sun and sniffing the fresh air. She always greeted us with such joy, wagging her tail with so much excitement it nearly knocked her over. Our house feels emptier without her, but our hearts are forever full because of her. Until we meet again, sweet girl — I’ll be waiting for the day you greet me at the end of the rainbow bridge.

Banshee Stinson

From Aug 4th of 2005 until Nov. 16th of 2018
Banshee was our best friend and the dearest part of our family. She traveled the country with us as the Marine Corps took us on many adventures, and Banshee gave us so many incredible memories that we will never forget.

You came into our lives in North Carolina and we had no idea what we were getting into or just how much fun we were about to have! From our daily walks to teaching you to swim and our hikes that were way too long in Arizona, and putting your snow boots on to play in the snow which you absolutely did not care for...you always found a way to make us laugh! When we had our son 6 years later we were nervous that you would feel left out, but you were so wonderful with Ben and an even stronger and closer companion to all of us once our family was complete. Looking back, I only hope and pray that you know how loved you were and how much joy and comfort that you brought to our lives every day, from the moment we met until I held you and you took your last breath. You will always be in our hearts and souls and you will never be forgotten or replaced. I miss you more than anything Banshee and I know that you are at peace in your new home in Heaven.

Thank you Peaceful Pet Passage staff for being so caring with our Banshee. Letting her go was the hardest thing we've ever done and we appreciate you being there for our family.

Duke Evans

Duke came to us on Mother's Day 2006. He was our oldest son, Garrett's, 9th birthday present. Duke loved his family. He loved to take walks and we had to use "code" when talking about the possibility. Camping and hiking were two of his favorite things to do with his family. He also loved to take car rides to his Grandma and Grandpa Lauer's house - staying at Hotel Lauer was almost as good as being home with his kids. When we adopted his "brother" Finn from a rescue, Duke wanted nothing to do with him; for about 4 days. After that they were inseparable. We will miss his gentle ways, his constant need to be touching you and his wagging tail every time we walk into the house. He is deeply missed.

Karma King

February 7, 2012 – August 29, 2025
You were four months old when you hopped out of that SUV and into my life; the last of your 10 puppy litter to be adopted and the one that lived the longest *by far.* All head and paws, you were so timid when you walked over to your new parents but you jumped right in the car to head to your new home! You were my BigGirl (in her middle years), my BabyGirl (in her senior years), My Precious (always)… your nicknames could go on forever, but the one CONSTANT adjective I always heard during your encounters was “Sweet.” You shared that sweetness with the world for thirteen years that can’t truly be put into words and that I wouldn’t trade for anything. Rest easy, Karma Girl. Always the sweetest.

Gunner Landis

12/25/16 - 8/19/25
They were inseparable from day one, an unbreakable bond between a boy and his pup. Gunner's unwavering loyalty never wavered, always by Bubs' side. Gunner loved to eat deer steak, sweet strawberries, duck jerky, bananas and he would run to get a piece of licorice when he heard the licorice bag open. Gunner loved car rides and to go walking at the lake and play in the water. Gunner was a full spirited boy until cancer took over his body. Though it's a bittersweet day, Gunner's spirit now runs free. Surely, his brother and sister , Harley and Belle welcomed him as he crossed the rainbow bridge. 💙 Run free, Gunner Boy!

Oscar Rhoads

Oscar was such a great dog, old and stinky but forever loving to the end. He will be missed by all. Longest we've ever loved a pet ❤

Marshall Muza

The morning of Monday November 5, 2018 our boy Marshall went to the Rainbow Bridge. It was a very sad day for us his family
Marshall was a great family member and the last of our dogs. Marshall's story was a classic one of "good news" and "bad news". The good news was, Marshall was a calm and loving Terrier mix who came to a safe, happy and loving foster home. He liked the other foster dogs in the home and took as much love as he could get. The bad news was that, Marshall's life was not always so easy. He was turned into a shelter as a stray and while his basic needs were cared for no one noticed his leg was injured. Due to some form of abuse, he had nerve damage in his leg and foot. In addition, he had BB pellet wounds to his body which made the veterinarians think he had been shot. Marshall sat in a shelter for months. How he must have suffered in the months before being brought into foster care. It was then we learned the full extent of his injuries. At first the veterinarians felt his leg would heal. He received medicine to combat the infection and treatments for the injured leg by us his foster family. He continued to drag his leg and would not put weight on it. He was in pain, and could not understand why the leg felt the way it did, and began biting it to the point of hurting himself. It became apparent the leg would have to be amputated.
The good news was once the leg was amputated Marshall learned to walk on his three good legs and also learned that human beings can be a source of love and attention instead of pain and suffering. No one wanted a dog with three legs a misfit so he decided he liked it just where he was. We don't think he ever realized he only had 3 legs. He ran and played like our other dogs. Our hope is that Marshall remembered the love and care we gave him and not the abuse he suffered prior to his life with us. Marshall was a happy guy that loved his treats.
Marshall gave us 11 1/2 years of love and laughs.
My grandson called him Marshmallow and the rest of us nicked named him Marshey. The house is empty with out him. We hope they have ice cubes and treats at the Rainbow Bridge as they were his favorites. Every time I open the freezer door I wait to hear him standing there waiting for an ice cube. I am sure his sisters were there to greet him at the Rainbow Bridge. Roxie, Angel and Hoops.
Marshall until we meet again know you were loved sweet boy and we will miss you terribly.
We were so happy you choose us to be you family.
RIP
Forever your Family

Tazwolf Fountain

October 24, 2014 – August 19, 2025
Tazwolf was the absolute best furry companions, lap dog, protector and guardian of balls. Born with a severe case of hip dysplasia, he managed to run, play, and simply be himself. Thank you and Dr. Mary for helping us to help him cross that rainbow bridge peacefully.

Callie Stetz

On August 8 (2025), we said goodbye to Callie, who came to us as a rescue, malnourished and with Lyme disease. She had lived her first three years in an outside box/crate, after a breeder/farmer had decided she did not make the grade as a hunting dog. To us she was a loving family member and friend to all, both human and canine. She even came to tolerate rabbits and squirrels. Cats…not so much. : ) We are deeply saddened by her passing and wish we could have done more for her, but we understand that a hard early life stacked the odds against her. We are eternally grateful for the seven years of a good life we were able to give her and the boundless love she gave us in return.
2015 - 2025

Bob Eichelberger

2008-2025
I don’t remember much about the early days with Bob when we brought him home as a kitten. Our house was pretty lively at that time, being blessed with seven grandkids in eight years. We had already had a cat and they hit it off great. Sadly, he lost his friend and over the years he had one other companion that he outlived. That’s when we became best buddies. In the last few years, I’ve had some major surgeries and suffered through the loss of our 42 year old son. Somehow he knew just how to comfort me. He was definitely my soul cat. I struggle with the idea of getting another cat as I know there with never be another “Bob”. When he got sick, there was no question; I wanted him to “peacefully pass”, and he did with me holding him. I will miss my buddy forever.

Sophie Emig

Missing my Sophie girl...6 years after adopting her from a really unfair and hard life as a puppymill mama. 8/7/25 was the day she crossed the beautiful bridge at home, comfortable, and surrounded by us as well as her fur siblings . She was the piece that fit our rescue puzzle. despite a bells palsy diagnosis, Cushing's diagnosis and having multiple mammory tumors remised, she was so friggin resilient! we did whatever we needed for her best interest, however her sclerotic intestinal disease and a tumor in her belly took us down a path that there was no longer hope for ....my heart is shattered...she was our first baby girl...and we are forever scared and impacted by how loving, trusting, and how darn smart she was...will forever miss her smell, antics, and personality...she was a beautiful soul.

Freya Vila

2/14/2018-7/28/2025
Although we did not name her, she fit her name. She was a magical warrior surrounded by love. 7 years ago, we were looking to adopt a friend for our newly adopted puppy Rudy, who was a good boy with some heavy anxiety. Freya became his sister and best pal. She came to us at 6mo old, one month after she was found with a broken leg and an amputation surgery in which her front left leg was removed. Her disability was never an obstacle for her because she played like she never knew she needed four legs. Freya loved her family every moment of every day and we all loved her with all our hearts! She loved watching birds while they sang, chasing but never catching bunnies, and barking at the vacuum, ice maker, and neighbor dogs. But most of all, Freya loved her stuffed Scooby, whom she grabbed any time she had big & happy feelings! She was quite the character who was tough on the outside but a baby on the inside. She is missed each & everyday by her family and most of all by her brother Rudy. After she crossed the bridge, we imagine her running free with all 4 legs, sniffing the sniffs, and listening to birds sing. 🐾 💗
